Este material proporcionar\u00e1 boa estanqueidade e n\u00e3o promover\u00e1 a corros\u00e3o. Por se tratar de um material com aglomerante de borracha, sua vida \u00fatil \u00e9 limitada, pois apresenta envelhecimento.<br \/>\nNo entanto, pode haver casos onde a capacidade de torque seja limitada (por exemplo: prisioneiros B8\/B8M classe I), ou o meio seja muito \u00e1cido ou alcalino. Nesses casos, sem d\u00favida, conv\u00e9m utilizar <strong>SEALON HIPRO<\/strong>, PTFE Expandido com fibras multidirecionais. Al\u00e9m disso, n\u00e3o sofre envelhecimento e pode vedar por muitos anos.<br \/>\nQuando as flanges s\u00e3o de a\u00e7o carbono, a situa\u00e7\u00e3o muda. Se as faces das flanges estiverem revestidas (se puder evitar isso, melhor), \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio considerar o tipo de revestimento e sua resist\u00eancia \u00e0 compress\u00e3o.
